Hela poem
This is a story of a girl named Henrietta Lacks
Many people don't know the story so I'll tell you the facts
She came into the hospital because something was wrong, you see
She was told she had cancer and that she needed surgery
While she lay asleep on the hospital bed
They went ahead and took her cells without any consent
They never told her about what they had done
They never told her husband or her daughter or her son
And when her cells became immortal as she passed away
The doctors said they would sell them as long as people would pay
So they were shipped around the world still multiplying
Little did her family know her cells had kept on thriving
When her family finally read her cells had kept on living
They wanted information that nobody was giving
So the Lacks family didn't get a single cent
Even though her cells were taken without her consent
